My name is Peyton Essenmacher and I have enjoyed being a thrower since I was first introduced to it on my 4th grade CYO Track & Field team. In 7th grade, I finished 2nd overall at our Diocesan championship meet. Covid took away my 8th grade track season, an injury suffered during basketball season took away my freshman track season, and a concussion suffered during JO volleyball took half of my sophomore track season away.
Absence does make the heart grow fonder and when I finally was able to get back to my throwing half way through my sophomore year, I was right back in love. It is my goal for my junior year to both improve my distances and my throwing form, especially in discus, since I only have a half-season of that event under my belt.
I work hard at every practice, do the work in the weight room, and am an excellent teammate.
My work ethic carries over into the classroom, as I have earned honors during each quarter of my high school career thus far and was inducted into the National Honor Society. I strive to be successful both academically and athletically in college. I thank you for your time and consideration.
