I believe it is most important to lead by action.
As a runner, this means I am the first to start warming up and the last to leave the weight room. I am flexible with events; whether I'm part of a 4x800 relay or scoring in cross country, I willingly run whatever my team needs. As a result, my times have dropped dramatically each season and my improvement curve is continuing upwards.
I have a similar flexibility in the classroom. I have been successful in both writing school news articles and lab reports in AP science classes, and I intend to be well-rounded in every subject, not just the subjects I plan on pursuing as a career.
Most importantly, I am balanced in character. I am especially hard-working, and I've found that all the hours I put in pay off in a 4.6 GPA and state championships. I have a job at a local specialty running store, where I've saved money for school and met many people with the same passion for running that I have. I'm also caring towards all my teammates and I have a high level of respect for my coaches.
I am looking for a place to continue my love of running which can also prepare me for a career in medicine. I am willing to put in the work to help make my future team the best possible!
