Hello! I am currently a junior at Dayton Christian High school. I’ve been running XC since 8th grade. I also started doing track my freshman year. Running is a big passion of mine and has overcome other sports such as basketball and soccer that used to be a major passion. I love my team and it’s so exciting being there to support their achievements in the sport and outside of it as well. I find it very rewarding by giving advice to other runners on my team and seeing them apply it to their races. I also apply techniques given to me by my coaches and other teammates, because my goal is to run at the highest level that I can. I always run my hardest at practices and races so I can reach that goal. I would love to continue my passion and reach even more of my goals by running in college. Thank you for taking time to read this information about me.
*Update 12/24/22* I had been out for a broken foot injury since the end of April 2022 and unfortunately was only able to compete in first 3 meets this 2022 track and field season. Of those three meets I ran the open 800 once and got my pr of 2:27 which was 2 seconds off from last year. I have gone through physical therapy this fall, slowly getting stronger and hoping to run in the XC season. With a slightly restricted training schedule due to my foot and only 5 weeks of training, I ran in 5 meets and eventually made it to regionals and got my freshman pr of 20:30. With my limited training I was happy with the progress I had made. I am currently lifting, cross training, running, and I have swapped out my usual winter sport of basketball in order to swim for extra cross training, which I hope will prepare me for track. I am excited to see what impact this off season work will show during track season!
