Growing up racing all the neighborhood kids, I discovered that I was pretty fast. With the first opportunity I had, I decided to try out for my Junior High School's Track and Field team. I quickly learned that I enjoyed the atmosphere of being on the track team. During my seventh grade year, I was one of the top sprinters on the team, given the opportunity to compete at all of our team's invational meets, and even excelling to win some of the invatationals as a team. Unfortunately, my eight grade season was cancelled due to Covid-19. This only made me realize even more how much I enjoyed running and how much I valued my team. Coming into High School, I was eager to do well to make up for what was taken away. I have been a top sprinter on the Varsity Track and Field team since freshman year. Being apart of this team, I have been able to learn to be a better person and leader on and off the track. I have been able to create unbreakable bonds with my teammates and coaches and I could not imagine where I would be without my track family. My teammates always encourage me to work my hardest and as being a leader of the team, I strive to do the same for them. I have decided to continue my athletic career during college because I want to continue to meet new people, learn how to be a better teammate and leader, and I am not ready to give up running.
