2023 SpotlightPersonal Statement
My name is Rosa Parsons and I am a sophomore at Revere High School, class of 2026.
My goal is to go to college to focus my studies in the science field and continue to participate in cross country, and track and field. I have not decided on a major, but I am very interested in Astronomy and Astrophysics. My events in track and field are the high jump, 800m, and 1600m but I will run in any event Coach tells me to compete in. I qualified for the Varsity team for high jump as a freshman and I lettered in cross country at the end of the season. As a sophomore I secured a spot on the varsity at the beginning of the season.
My parents taught me the value of hard work, dedication to your craft, and the importance of teamwork. I believe these traits led me to a great freshman year at high school. I intend to continue participating in cross country and track and field throughout high school and my focus will be to improve physically and mentally so I am prepared for college. I am eager to continue working hard to become a better student and athlete so I may achieve my goals.

- Learned new training techniques for high jump and received feedback on things I can improve on, specifically my takeoff. I enjoyed working with the coaches and university athletes, they were all very nice and extremely helpful and I enjoyed meeting new fellow high school athletes as well.
