Qualifying for State Championships my freshman year was a huge accomplishment. It taught me how hard work and dedication could pay off. However, I grew the most during my sophomore year when my team qualified for state. It taught me that even though we race individually, cross country is a team sport that involves dedication, encouragement, and support in teammates both on and off the track. There have been good races and bad races. I learn more from the bad races because I know to not let the bad races bring me down, but to walk away with something positive, learn from mistakes, and be even stronger the next race. Being part of an amazing, support team has taught me the value of commitment, dedication, sacrifice, and leadership. I am looking for a college program that will be a good fit athletically, and academically. I believe that I not only have the talent to run for a college program, but also the character, work-ethic, leadership, commitment, and sacrifice that it takes. As a year-round varsity runner I know what it takes to be a leader on your team!
