Personal Statement
My dream to secure a spot on a collegiate cross country and track and field team began after my first middle school XC season. Since then, I have committed myself to the pursuit of that goal.
I believe success in this goal is a decision. Each day, I decide to strive for excellence in my training and the classroom. I put in the work during the off season and go the extra mile in my studies. My invitation to the state XC meet my freshman year and my nearly perfect GPA are a result of that decision. I decide to be a coachable athlete and learner of the sport. I decide to be a leader, encouraging my teammates and inspiring focus and positive attitudes. It is my decision to organize for success in the next season or semester by setting my intentions and creating a plan for improving results.
It is my hope that commitment to these daily decisions ultimately allows me to realize my dream of earning a place on a college cross country and track team.
