The highlights of my running career so far have been winning the individual cross country sectional title as a sophomore by about 24 seconds. Another highlight was scoring 28 individual points of my teams 114 in the Western Indiana Conference for track, and then our team taking the win! Sometimes the races you do best in are not always the ones you reflect on. I think the race that had the most impact on me was my sophomore cross country state meet. It definitely gave me a confidence boost because our team hadn't been in over 20 years, and I was able to lead my team to that point. I would not be where I am if I didn't have the parents and coaches I have had throughout my middle school and high school years. They constantly believe in, and support me. One of the characteristics you absolutely need when racing is grit. I believe injury has helped me with that specifically. While being injured, I think it also helped me become a better teammate. I got to take a step back and appreciate even getting the chance to run. With that being said, it was still very upsetting for me to know what I was missing out on. I have gone through two stress fractures and am currently bouncing back from one. I couldn't be more ready to get back to running.
I have recently made a move from a very small town in Indiana to a larger town in Oklahoma. I think this move away from family and friends is preparing me for college. I am looking for a program that is good for me athletically and academically. I would make a great teammate and leader because I encouraged the girls on our team and we achieved more than we thought we were capable of. I know I would make a great addition to your team.
