1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Religeous or not, this is a great scripture and can be applied to any aspect in life. I am a runner and a military brat. I have lived all over the world and have had many different friends, homes and experiences. The one constant in my life, other than family, is running. It is what I know, it is what I get up at 5 o’clock in the morning to run 6 miles for. It is a mental game that can easily defeat the best of runners, so why do it? I do it for myself, for the race and the thrill of success. I want to bring my desire, talent, and work ethic to the next level, to push myself further than I can imagine. To have a place where I can have my aspirations supported and molded to become a great collegiate runner.
Why run if you are not trying to obtain the prize?
