My love for running began when I ran spring track in 7th grade. During the summer, I decided to make the move to running cross country instead of playing soccer in the fall season of my 8th grade year. Making the transition to cross country was a huge decision for me as most of my best friends played soccer. I started playing soccer when I was 3 years old, and I have played travel soccer for the last 9 years. Although I enjoy soccer as well, running is my true passion. Once I ran cross country in 8th grade, I never looked back.
Being part of my high school cross country and track team has taught me that dedication, positivity, and determination will get me far not only in my running career, but also in my future. Due to my leadership and work ethic this past cross country season, I earned a captain pin. Unfortunately, due to the postponement of our track season this spring, I am not able to compete as I had hoped, but I am continuing to train hard and I am looking forward to my senior cross country season. I am looking for a program that will challenge me academically as well as athletically. I know what it takes to succeed and I am willing to put in the time and hard work to achieve both individual and team-based goals.
