I push myself to achieve a sense of accomplishment. On the field, I focus on all aspects of the moment that contribute to a successful throw, each time I step onto the runway or into the pit. Every event informs what I will do next time, different from or more of. Each pushes me to compete and achieve. My goal is to throw beyond my high school record of 126.9 feet and to gain an even farther distance in college. Academically, my goals are no smaller. The years I have spent working on a farm fuel my intent to study veterinary medicine and specialize in the care of large, domestic animals. I plan to own my own my own business one day.
As a member of a team, I am looking for a family-like atmosphere with desire to win overall. I believe that the harder I work, the more I accomplish, and that I only get what I'm willing to work for. I am a natural leader in everything that I do. People tend to come to me when there is a problem athletically or otherwise. As an example, I played a role in helping my best friend work through an eating disorder. I strive to push everyone to be the best they can be. I am self-sufficient, hardworking, punctual, reliable, and most importantly, determined. All of these qualities makes me an effective, empathetic, leader. In all, my goal is to be a better student and athlete as well as a compassionate contributor to society.
