DeAsia Holloman '19 Recruiting Profile

I am a dedicated athlete who is looking forward to taking my skills in track and field to the next level.  Each time I step on the track I feel energized and ready to take on the event. This spark that I feel motivates me to try my hardest and be the best me that I can be.  If you were to ask me my qualities, I would say that I am focused, driven, and find joy in competing.  Although I get nervous right before the gun, once I take my cleansing breath all bets are off - watch out cause here I come.  

Over the past few years, I have learned a lot about myself and have learned that I have only just begun to really challenge myself.  Each year me and my coach get together and we set new milestones for me to reach. My goal is to not only meet this milestone, but to blow it out the water. This past year my goal was to beat an outgoing senior (as a freshman) in at least one track event.  I'm happy to report I came in first against all competitors other than my own sibling. 

My older sister, a track athlete herself, has been a great role model and continues to push me to do my best. We have been running together since we were in elementary school and found this sport to help us focus on our individual goals and team objectives.  Following in my sisters footsteps would be a great accomplishment, but I rather create a path of my own.  My future is bright and I want to use my natural abilities to blaze the way.
