When I first started track and field, high jump in particular, I didn't know that it would be what my world revolved around. School has always been very important to me, but it turns into a lot sometimes. For me, there is nothing more helpful for my mental health than finishing class and getting to go outside to the track and train. I also love track because of the relationships that I have built with not only my coaches and teammates, but also my competitors from other schools. Being able to sit there with my teammates, cheering them on until the cross the finish line, clear the bar, or jump/throw far makes me really happy as they do it right back for me. My goal as an athlete is to continue building more relationships with other track athletes and to show myself and others that having confidence in yourself is the key to getting better.
