My running career began my freshman year of high school during the spring track season where I ran the 800m (2:22.83), 400m (1:01.06), and occasionally the 1600m (5:24.43). This is when I fell in love with running competitively. My sophomore year, I competed in my first cross country season where I came in 9th at the PIAA District 1 meet and 38th at the PIAA State Championship meet. During my first indoor season, my teammates and I medalled (5th place) in the DMR at the Nike Indoor Nationals meet where I ran the 800m leg. My goal at the beginning of my Sophomore spring track season was 2:14 in the 800m and I was able to get a PR of 2:12.44. My time qualified me to run at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals. I am a two-time All American with six PA State medals and I currently hold six school records. Our team also won PA Indoor State Championship title this year! I was recently named the Daily Local News Girls Spring 2022 Track Athlete of the Year. https://papreplive.com/2022/06/27/dln-girls-track-athlete-of-the-year-west-chester-rustins-maddie-miller-reached-her-peak-at-seasons-end/.
My goal is to do speed and strength training over the summer in addition to my cross country training to help me drop my times even more. I want to compete at the D1 collegiate track level.
My grades and studies have always been very important to me. I have a strong work ethic that drives me to succeed in the classroom. I am hoping to find a school that matches both my academic and athletic goals.
