Clemence Lavoie '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Clémence Lavoie. I am a very motivated and coachable heptathlete, as well as being successful in school. I set high expectations for myself and possess self-determination to work hard enough to achieve them. So far, weight training has been minimal with my track club (not more than once a week) so I am confident that I can increase overall power and speed with a good lifting program, thus improving sprints, jumps and throws. 

I am looking forward to continuing my progression in a T&F team with a proven record of developing combined events athletes. It is important that the team sets a strong bond among athletes and cultivates team chemistry. My goal is to perform up to my expectations at tracks level, but also to create unforgettable memories with teammates and coaches.

From the Greater Montréal suburbs, I speak fluently French and English. I am considering different fields of studies, from science engineering, actuarial studies or other science related fields.

One fun fact about me is that the elementary school which I attended retired my jersey with my name on it, which now hangs on the wall of the gym. Only one graduating athlete per year was chosen for this honor. My passion for tracks came from my 6th grade elementary teacher at this school who introduced me to running.

I have an older sibling who played volleyball in high school and both my parents played volleyball in college (mother) and university (father). I also played volleyball in grade 7 and 8, as well as flag football but have chosen to concentrate on T&F.

I am a certified beach lifeguard, as well as certified advanced open water scuba diver. I also learned to play guitar by myself and love hiking in the Adirondacks and Appalachian Mountains.
