I have been competing in the sport of triathlon since I was 7 years old. It evolved from kids races, to adult Sprint distance races, to Olympic distance races. From the first time I crossed the finish line, I knew I was hooked! I have been ranked as high as #1 in the country for triathlon and #1 in the country for duathlon. As I began winning my broad age group (19 & under) and then winning overall female titles and surpassing many male competitors, national recognition for my accomplishments soon followed. I have never been one to crave media attention. Thus, I decided to find a more productive way to harness that attention for the greater good...and so, Team Ariana was created.
I formed Team Ariana when I was 12 as a vehicle to combine my triathlon career with my passion for helping homeless children. The movement has grown exponentially with thousands of homeless children being impacted through over $150,000 in cash donations, goods and services resulting from Team Ariana. I have also served as a mentor for hundreds of other children and adults working to motivate them to live a healthy lifestyle, find a passion, pursue it, and give back to their local communities in a meaningful way. This has resulted in countless efforts to raise funds and awareness for hunger to domestic violence to animal welfare. Plus, we have managed to inspire countless children to get off their social media and go outside to be active! www.teamariana.org
It is my dream to compete in cross country in college and refine my speed skills so that I may apply it to a long triathlon career after college. My ambition is to not only have a career after college, but I plan to race triathlon competitively as long as my body will allow. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of a team with a common goal of progression, strategy and victory. I am eager to learn from another coach who will see my untapped potential and teach me the tools to be a better, faster, smarter runner. My high school cross country experience has been an exceptional team bonding collaboration. I want to continue that excitement and passion into my college years.
