I have been competing since 7th grade. I have played many other sports, but none compare to throwing; it truly has become my passion. My freshman year I started throwing as a Junior Varsity athlete, placing 1st in both Shot Put and Discus at District. My sophomore year I earned a spot on the Varsity team, placing 2nd in Shot Put at District, and advanced on into Area.
I have realized throwing is a very important part of my life now, and getting the opportunity to throw at the collegiate level not just gives me a chance to further my education; but to do something I love for another four years while perusing my dream of becoming a nurse
Growing up, I watched my mom struggle as a single teen mother. My background has driven me to continue pushing myself to do the best I can in life to provide for my family in the future. This being said my High School academic goals consist of graduating in the top 25% of my class as well as completing the Health Science program offered at my high school.
