Hi, my name is Charley Hamilton and I am in the graduating class of 2024 at Rockwall High School. Unlike most runners my age, I only began running my freshman year. The moment I began my first race, I instantly fell in love with the sport. In the short time that I have been running, I have made the varsity track and cross country teams all 3 years of high school. My current personal records are 2:14 for the 800m, 4:48 for the 1500, 5:18 for the 1600m, 7:30 for the 2k steeplechase, 12:28 for the 3200m, and 19:50 for the 5k. I am confident that I have room to grow and better these times as I continue running throughout my high school and college careers.
As much as I enjoy running, academics are greatly important to me. Throughout high school I have taken mainly honors, dual enrollment, and AP classes. I have a 4.84/5.0 GPA. I would like my academics to be my main focus throughout college so that I can become a speech therapist in the future.
I will work extremely hard in order to continue to better myself both academically and athletically. I would love to go to school in an environment where I am constantly surrounded with students and athletes who are just as dedicated to their academics and sports as I am.
