I am the definition of a dedicated student-athlete. I work hard in the classroom currently fighting for the valedictorian spot. I have always taken higher level classes. I also plan to take as many honor/college classes I am offered. Within the higher level classes I have taken, I’ve obtained an “A” average. I go above and beyond for my academics. This past track season of my sophomore year, I broke the school record for the 100M by half a second. I always loved track due to my high competitiveness. I instantly fell in love with the sport itself and felt at home. Though I didn’t start to take it serious till the beginning of my sophomore year ,which was this past ‘23 season. Especially after breaking a school record I never felt satisfied with myself after every meet no matter how good/bad I did. I give it my all every meet because I know some people may not ever feel the glorifying feeling of running competitively. I strive off my coaches and teammates. They make the pain and injuries all worth it. Letting them down is my biggest fear. They are what keep me going each race. I take practice very seriously. I feel as your athletic success starts when no one is watching. Meaning I put in the work behind closed doors. I give it my all every practice and act as if it is a real race. I feel as I have accomplished so much this season ,though I know I am not done or even close. I have two more years and I plan on being the best athlete I know I am capable of. I have so much skill waiting to break out of me. I can’t wait to show it within those years and hopefully more at the collegiate level.
