I haven't been an athlete my whole life, in the summer following ninth-grade year I took a leap of faith and decided to start running, I joined my high-school cross-country team and it has been the best decision of my life. I was a rookie at running and appearing slow and weak was a very vulnerable experience, but through the growing pains I learned how hard work and dedication pays off. I set big goals for myself and worked hard to acheive them because I truly believe I can do anything I put my mind to. At the end of my second season of cross country I shaved off 9 minutes from my first 5k in the summer of 2020 with a time of 21:44, I ran a half marathon in a time of 1:51:01 and a marathon in a time of 3:46:47 securing first place in my age division. This mindset has given me an edge on the track and in the classroom, I am a 4.0 student with multiple CE and honor classes, and I am a member of the National Honors Technical Society. I desire to go to college to further my education in psychology and social work to help as many people as I can in my chosen career. I run with my heart, I set big goals and I have the drive to train for and accomplish these goals! I want to become the best athlete and student I can be, I am very coachable and will take any advice to heart. I will do my part for the team, I'll be a leader by example, I will cheer and support my teammates, and I will work hard making sure I give my all to the team and this amazing sport.
