My name is Arianna Colson and I'm a Junior attending Orange County High School. My dream is to compete at the collegiate level and go to school for medicine. Being supportive and a good listener has always been very important to me, which makes me a great team player. I am also an achiever, I am very goal-oriented. I love the feeling of crushing a new goal and creating a new one. Track and field have allowed me to set high goals for myself and have taught me a lot. I love the competitive feeling I get from a race. It fuels me up. I am a great team player and coaches have always put me in leadership positions. Sports are incredibly important however academics take priority. Achieving good grades and working hard in school is a must. I have found that track and field have allowed me to focus in the classroom better and achieve better grades. I am a student-athlete who always promises to give my 110%. Performing half way is simply not an option.
My favorite event is the high jump; I feel like I'm flying. I came into high jump very late, one day I took an interest and lined up with the high jumpers and cleared it. My coach instantly saw potential and after 2 or 3 practices I competed at regionals and qualified for states. Since that moment I have been researching techniques and form and I am mentally preparing myself so when I can be back in the season, I will be ready to crush it!
