Hello! I am Devyn Jones and I am currently a junior at South Lakes High School. My aspirations for college and beyond are to attend medical school and eventually become a successful doctor who helps all of those in need of healing. I would love to be part of a track team while attending college. I participate in multiple events: triple jump, high jump, long jump, hurdles, long sprints, the 4x200m relay, the 4x100m relay, and the 4x400m relay. I have gone to the Penn Relays, Arcadia, and New Balance Nationals as an individual competitor and relay member since freshman year. While the track team does not have official captains, I have been helping the younger members of the team become comfortable with the team.
The most important aspects of my life are my family, my friends, school, track, and food. I enjoy traveling, flying planes, reading, art, and cooking. Additionally, I am a hardworking, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and responsible person. As well as working hard on the track, I challenge myself with my education. In school take demanding school courses that require great time management skills, such as taking all IB courses both junior and senior year. By taking all IB courses, I hope to achieve the IB diploma. I also took AP Government and IB Chemistry 1 my sophomore year. In addition to school and track, I have a job at a local gym that I work at on the weekends. I work in the Child Center of the gym and it requires a great deal of patience and responsibility. This summer I hope to work as a camp counselor for the gym when I am not at track camps or studying in France. I work as a youth track coach with my teammates on the weekends as well during the fall, spring, and summer.
