Running is my passion - Winning is my goal.
Breaking the Skyline High School 1600m record with a 5 second PR of 4:56.07 at my home stadium at the KingCo Conference Championships was the greatest moment of my running career, along with breaking the 5K record this year. Stepping onto the track or XC course to train or compete is exhilarating. Sports fuel me and in return I bring dedication, enthusiasm and 100% effort. I have a natural drive to compete and to encourage my team mates. I enjoy being a captain and leader and love mentoring younger athletes. I'm looking forward to the coaching, training and competitions at the collegiate D1 level.
Learning is my first love.
My studies are of utmost importance to me. I take my academics seriously and bring the same work ethic from my sports to my education. I am taking 4 HL two year IB courses at Skyline High School which is preparing me to attend a top ranked University where I will pursue Engineering and compete in cross country and track.
Giving back is important to me.
During the school year, I volunteer with the Strong4Sam Foundation Club, which raises awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research.
Summer 2016, I led a team that raised over $6000 for the nonprofit Water For People bringing clean water and sanitation to 9 countries globally. This effort allowed me to combine my passion for running with my desire to pursue a career in environmental engineering.
