Raine Westfall '18 Recruiting Profile

I want to go to college to pursue my dream of becoming a Marine Biologist, but sports have always been a huge part of my life. They're what I turn to when life looks like it's on a spiral descent, and as with anything I do, I strive for excellence. Competition to me is about more than winning--it’s about becoming the best I can be.

The classes I have taken have all been in the pursuit of my future career in marine biology and conservation. My electives have been science or arts based as I plan to minor in photography, because as a conservationist seeing is as important as the information itself. I am extremely curious about the natural world in which we live; with a college degree, I will strive to uncover the secrets of our big blue planet.

I look to my future with optimism because I am faithful that Crescent athletics have built a strong foundation for my personality; charismatic with perseverance, dedication, and hard work, I have come to achieve goals that seemed bleak and impossible at times. Thanks to expert coaches and teachers, I am one step closer to my college goals. These heroes have mentored me instilling a belief of will, strength, and determination. I am ready to take the next step in my life, to keep pursuing college athletics and my future.
