2023 Highlights Personal Statement
I have a two part goal: one is to excel academically in the field of law and politics, a field in which I hope to take a justice system that my family has been building and expand it into helping the socially disadvantaged level the playing field of life; and my second goal -- which often feels most important in the moment -- is to excel in athletics, primarily as a thrower with the track and field team and also in weightlifting, a long term activity of mine in which I have enjoyed a lot of success and some enjoyable travel. In most every sport I have played in since I was tiny, coaches handing out awards at the end of the season have usually thanked me most for leading my teammates, inspiring my teammates and bringing a joy and levity that apparently makes their lives both more enjoyable and easier. I love the hammer throw, weight throw and discus most and I feel like I will build a community around me with my track and field teammates that will enrich my collegiate experience and hopefully make the experience of those around me a more fulfilling experience as well.

- Private coaching in hammer, discus, weight throw and shot put with Cami Stovall who coached University of Texas up and comer Jeremiah Nubbe. Nubbe is a three-time outdoor Track and Field National Champion (2021 USATF Junior Olympic Discus Champion and 2022 Nike Nationals hammer and discus champion who inspired Sky to pick up the hammer. Coach Stovall coached Sky to winning first place for virtually all of the Evergreen State College hammer meets. Her numbers are steadily rising and it is her favorite sport to date.

- Powerlifting has been competitive within the State and nationally in Las Vegas. Won a State championship in bench, placed in deadlift, won multiple events in Las Vegas including setting a world record.

- AwardsSky is enrolled to take 4 AP courses next semester. Sky has taken Honors Spanish every year, however, her junior year did not offer any Honors Spanish classes. Sky is proficient in Spanish (an AP she is taking next year) and completed a study abroad program in Barcelona last year, Founding Family member of the T-Town Rocks charity event supporting charities including the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital Developmental Unit.
