I started my running journey in 6th grade. At that time, it never even crossed my mind that I could run in college someday. I thought that only the “elite” get to run in college. However, now that I am in high school, my perception has changed. I still have an opportunity to do what I love for a college team.
It has always been a dream of mine to run at the collegiate level. I just find it fascinating that I can continue my running career after high school. I watch all these collegiate runners like Parker Valby and Katelyn Tuohy and I envy them. I want to inspire runners like they inspire me. I have always dreamed of being some little girl’s inspiration to run and work hard. If I would want to achieve anything as a runner, it would be to inspire others.
I have always been a big team person. I love my team so much. They are like a family to me. We do almost everything together, even outside of running. Being a close team is so important to me, and it’s also what pushes me to be a better runner. The last thing I want to do is let my team down. For example, if I’m slowing down in a race, I think to myself that I have to push myself for my teammates.
I also have a lot of heart. I try to give everything my all. Whether we are at practice, or at a meet, it doesn’t matter. I never give up. I want to be the best, and that motivates me to be better. I will always kick it in at the end, no matter what.
I may not seem any different than the girls you are already recruiting, but if you give me a chance, I won’t let you down. I will always show up. I will always try my best. You can always count on me to give it my absolute all. I will always be the runner you can count on to do what is needed.
I have always done well in school. In high school, I am in honors classes as well as taking early college courses. With athletics and academics, I always push myself to the limit. As I said before, I want to be the best. I feel that I have to prove myself.
Thank you for reading this. Please reach out to me. I would love to talk about the possibility of running for your school.
