Gillian Head '27 Recruiting Profile

I am a hardworking and athletic 5'7" Setter/DS from KDS DAR High School in Grant, Alabama.  I am Class of 2027 & my goals are to become a collegiate volleyball player, hope to major in Marine Biology, but have other options depending on the opportunity. I am ready for the next level of play as a collegiate athlete.  I was the starting setter as a Sophomore for my Varsity team this year and finished the season with 870 assists and 223 digs.  The positions I have played are setter, DS, and pin hitter. I have played for my school since my 7th grade year, being a starter every year.  I have played club volleyball for 5 years.  I currently play for United Volleyball in Huntsville, AL.  I have been on a power team every year as a Setter/RS but last year I was pulled up to the United 15 National team as OH/DS and we won Bronze in the Patriot division at Nationals in Las Vegas.  I am currently on the United 16 National team as a Setter/DS and cannot wait for the season to start! What sets me apart from the rest is that I am a well-rounded smart athlete, I have a 4.3 GPA, I'm in advanced classes, the Sophomore Class President, the SGA Treasurer and run for the varsity track Team. The Track team  has made me stronger and quick on my feet.  I am very involved with my FCA and the Children of the American Revolution at my school which gives me opportunity to do community service which makes my life more fulling. I am in a very competitive area, and I am working hard to shine!
