Hi Coaches,
I would love to continue playing volleyball at a collegiate/university level while pursuing my academic interests. My ultimate goal is to become a physician specializing in Sports Medicine. I am strong academically and have been in French Immersion since Kindergarten and currently taking Spanish as well.
I am a hard-working, dedicated, coachable athlete with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. I have played volleyball since I was 11 and have played on a number of elite teams in Alberta. I have won two Provincial titles with my club teams (U13 - 403 Selects and U-15 - Jr Dino's) and placed 4th in Western Open Nationals (Jr Dino's). I am currently playing with the MRU U17 Cougars Club team and I am looking forward to a strong season.
I play with the Springbank Phoenix volleyball team during the high school season. Previously, I had been on the Jr Varsity team and we won two Divisional titles as well as a South Central Zone Championship. In the second season I was named both the MVP of our school team as well as the Divisional MVP. In the 2014 school year I was on the Senior Varsity Team. We placed third in Divisional's and Fourth in Zones. I was named Rookie of the Year for the Rockyview School Division. This year I was Captain of our Senior Varsity team, we won South Central Zones and went on to place 3rd in Provincials for 3A schools. I was named MVP of our team as well as Senior Varsity MVP for Rockyview School Division.
Though I specialized as a setter after my first year playing, I am a multi-functional player and have played both as an outside hitter, libero and as a middle. I train very hard on and off the court and enjoy improving every level of my game. I would love to continue to play volleyball at an elite level post high school graduation. Currently, I am specializing in right side and opposite side hitting as that is the positions my current MRU Jr Cougars team needs me to play.
I am a multisport athlete and play ice hockey at an elite level as well. I feel that hockey compliments my volleyball skills very well. This year due to school commitments I gave up elite hockey so that I could concentrate on volleyball and school marks.
