Hi, My name is MiMi Harris. I am a junior setter on both my high school and club volleyball teams. I am excited to tell you a bit more abut my collegiate goals and aspirations. My academic and professional goals consist of majoring in Physical Therapy and ultimately pursue my doctorate in Physical Therapy (PT). If a school does not have my major, I plan to major in Excercise Science, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, or Kinesiology as these degrees are closest to PT. I am getting a jump start on my college academic and professional goals by attending Physical Therapy classes at a vocational school in the morning and my core classes in the afternoon.
I believe what makes me a good candidate for a team are: I am a hard worker, coachable, alwasy have a positive attitude, love to run a fast offense, a natural leader both on and off the court, and I have a desire to compete and excel at the highest level both academically and athletically. I work hard both on and off the court, maintain a 3.6 GPA, involved in community service, church and other extracurricular activities which I believe make me stand out from other teammates and interested student athletes. My mom raised me to have integrity and compassion for others and I try to show them in every setting. For example, my character was on display last season as I won the "Character Counts" award for my team for my conduct both on and off the court. Also, during various games during high school and club season, I made the decision to be honest with the refs when a call was made in our favor when the ball was truly out of bounds. THe calls changed the direction of the game, but in the end, I remember what my mom told me and that is to be honest at all times, even when no one is looking. These traits help me stand out as I try to stay balanced, involved in various committments that service others, and work to improve my game on a team and in private training.
