Personal Statement

I come from a volleyball background, my dad played volleyball in high school and he eventually started a club team with my step mom. I officially joined a club team when I was nine and have been playing ever since. I have come to realize that I am stronger than I know; I pushed myself to make it this far with the love of the game driving me every day. I have gained a mental toughness by not letting the actions of another player affect me and the way I perform.

Throughout high school I have always loved science and how the human body works. Being involved with Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, and taking Human Anatomy only made my interest grow, including my involvement with dance since my freshman year of High School. I am looking for a college that offers a major in Exercise Science or Kinesiology. My ultimate goal is to work as a physical therapist.

I believe the court is my home, my team is my family, and I strive to have a personal connection with everyone on my team and hope to brighten their day. Playing with a variety of players over the years I have learned to analyze opposing players’ techniques to find weaknesses. Since a young age I have been a setter which provided me with a strong sense of the court and observing the holes in a team’s defense/offense, now I evaluate this quickly and use appropriate strategies when playing.  On the weekends I am never far from the court as a USAV Regional 2 Official.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
