Since the 5th grade, volleyball has been a great part of my life. Throughout the many years of playing volleyball, I feel I have truly grown when I experience a loss. The feeling of losing a game pushes me to want to be better for the next one; through this process, I can grow and learn on and off the court how to be a better athlete, teammate, and leader. Learning how to get past a loss helped me realize losing doesn’t have to be for the worse. Losing can act as a template that reveals weaknesses that can be fixed to make you more successful.
Volleyball has taught me how to be the best leader I can be for my team as well as a student. My values for commitment, leadership, and effort have grown tremendously through the years of volleyball I have played. Academics also play an important role in where I take the next steps in my volleyball career. Not only do I want to play for a great team, but I also want to be a part of a great learning program. In the end, I am looking forward to being a part of a program that fits me both athletically and academically!
