Abigayle Wertz '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abigayle, but I prefer to go by Abby; and I am currently a junior at Vilonia High School in Vilonia, Arkansas.  I am an honor roll student in advanced classes and a three sport athlete.  Not only do I play volleyball, basketball and run track for my high school; I also play club volleyball for Conway Juniors Volleyball in Conway, Arkansas and I have for the past three seasons.  I am currently on the 17U National team and the 18U Beach team.

I think my passion for sports came because it is such a release for anything else in life you are dealing with.  When I am on the court or the track, nothing else matters other than doing my absolute best to support my team. I was blessed to be awarded all conference and all state honors this season and I am looking forward to my senior season. 

Volleyball, I have discovered, is my true love.  There is something about being able to play all around and knowing that you have be quick to make split second moves in order to keep the play alive.  My favorite position is outside hitter and I think that is my best position as well.  I play all the way around in club ball and I love that my coaches and teammates have faith in my abilities to always back them up and be ready to go.

When I am on the bench, you will find me cheering loudly for my team no matter what sport.  I believe in building up my teammates and helping lift their spirits and reminding them how amazing they are if they are having a bad game (which happens to all of us).  I have been blessed to be a three time all conference runner in track, and this season also received all conference in basketball and all conference and all state honors in volleyball.

I am looking forward to being able to continually get better and stronger and being able to be an asset to any team that I am on. 

Currently I am looking at pre-med programs for college, but I know that whatever college I land at, I will find my home on the court.
