As a committed volleyball athlete, lifeguard, and student, I have become a natural leader as well as a determined student athlete. I have become accustomed to achieving more than what expected from myself. Both my parents are Chinese immigrants that came to Canada with a dream to excel the value of life for their children. Although they didn’t have much to offer me, it has taught me to be self sufficient and dedicated towards my goals. When my parents denied me the opportunity to join a volleyball club, I took it upon myself to work full time at the age of 14, in order to be able to afford my first season.  My goal is to be able to obtain an education that my parents never got the opportunity to. 

What differs me from other athletes is my beliefe that no one person can achieve overall perfection, we as individuals are continuously growing and make personal altercations to further better ourselves. This attitude drives me to always work hard off and on the court, in any given role.
