My name is Sydney Schierbeck, I am a 2025 Outside Hitter, from Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've been playing volleyball competitively for 3 years, but I've played recreational volleyball since I was 8 years old. I have always loved volleyball and as a child did camps any chance I got.
I am multi-positional, I usually play outside or libero, but I also play middle and have set in the past. I will go anywhere I am put without complaint, and I am always willing to work hard to master a new position or skill. I also play Beach Volleyball to strengthen my Indoor game, I play for The Beach Co., run by Kyra Innone and Devon May, and got second place at the 2022 BC Beach Provincials.
I am a strong student, and it is very important to me, and I maintain a 97% average in all my classes, and I am taking the hardest available courses at my school as well as online classes outside of school in my spare time. My dream is to be a Surgical Oncologist, and I am determined to reach that goal.
I am looking for a University where I can fit athletically and academically, where I believe I can be a great leader and have a lot of fun playing the sport I love, while also devoting myself to my classes.
