Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Sexton and I attend Liberty High School in Brentwood, California (Class of 2019). This year I was very proud to earn the starting position as a Opposite/Right Side Hitter for Liberty's Varsity Volleyball team as a junior. Last year as a sophomore, I earned the starting Middle Blocker position for the Varsity team. I was also a starting Middle Blocker on JV my freshman year. I am currently in my new club season and I am starting as Right side/opposite for East Bay Volleyball Academy. My last club season, I was able to to "play up" on the 17-1 (Power Black) as the starting Middle Blocker for Diablo Valley Volleyball Club in Concord. The previous year, I was the starting Middle Blocker for the 15-1 (Power Black) Bay Area Blast Volleyball Club in Concord. I enjoy playing Opposite Hitter and like to work the back row as well. I am very committed to my sport and I am very proud to have been able to earn a starting position on varsity this year. I have been playing volleyball since the age of 10 and I am very passionate about it.
My passion for volleyball continues to grow and it is my goal to play at a collegiate level. I am a hard worker and I am always up for a challenge. I am a very positive person and a team player. My top attributes include my consistent play on the court and my strong work ethic. My scholastic studies are very important to me, as my 4.04 grade point average can attest to. I am looking for a learning environment that can both challenge me academically, but also allow me to play volleyball at a highly competitive level.
When not playing volleyball or physically training, I love to draw and I am an avid reader. I love to spend time with my family and I enjoy pet sitting. I am active in my church youth group and I volunteer my time there as well as in the community I live in.
I just want to express once again that I am very motivated to play volleyball in college. While I admit volleyball is very important to me, I truly understand that my academic studies have to be the foundation of my goals. I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and learning a bit about me.
