I dedicate my entire life to both athletics and academics, and both require an immense amount of dedication and passion that I am more than happy to give. Both academics and athletics have taught me countless lessons about life that I could not have learned elsewhere.
Teamwork, discipline, and sacrifice are the most important things I have learned from being an athlete. Being an athlete has also taught me how to have fun with different people every season while playing the sport I love. I thrive on the feeling I get from competing. However, winning is not the most important thing in volleyball. There are many different things that are far more important - bonding with great groups of girls every year, having fun playing the best sport in the world, and learning life skills that are extremely hard to come by. When I'm on the court, I am always focused on finding a way to contribute to the team effort as well as enjoy the time I'm spending on the court with my team. We always play to win, but at the end of the day, if we know, as a team, we gave our best effort, we can walk off the court with our heads held high and be proud of what we did.
My goals for the future are to attend a college or university where I can have the best opportunity to contribute both academically and athletically to the institution and gain the most experience from that to prepare myself for whatever comes next. I plan to earn my bachelors in chemical engineering, or something closely related to chemical engineering, and after university I plan to earn a career where I can help to contribute to society using the endless depths of science.
