Catarina Emerson '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a hardworking, spirited player with a big passion for volleyball.  I am 5'6" tall and weigh 130 lbs.  I have played volleyball for eight years, beginning with the local parks and recreation teams in my community.  I played setter on my high school freshman team and am now in my third year on my high school varsity team playing setter.  In my junior year, I won first team, all league accolades.  I am currrently captain of the team and I recieved first team all league honors again this year.  I have played club volleyball for four years and plan on doing so in my senior year.  I have twice attended setters' camp at Cal State Long Beach University.  I am outstanding at motivating my teammates and encouraging them, while also working on improving my skills.  I never miss practices or games and give 110% to the sport.  I hope to major in Criminal Justice in college, with the intention of eventually getting an advanced degree in forensics.  I am eager to advance my volleyball career in college, while looking forward to the opportunity to use my leadership, passion, and skills to benefit a college team.  Someone once said "volleyball is my life; everything else is just details."  This quote accurately describes my enthusiasm for the game.
