Hi! My name is Tamara (Tammy) Nunez, I began playing volleyball in 6th grade on my middle school volleyball team. I started playing club volleyball during 7th grade. I attend Olympian High School in Chula Vista, California. I joined the varsity team as a freshman and I quickly became the starting setter. Making it to the CIF State Championships as a freshman has been the highlight of my high school career so far. Nonetheless, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete during that year when our team made it to the finals. That experience helped me grow as a person and lead me to focus more on becoming a solid setter capable of playing at a college level.
I play setter/defensive specialist for Storm Volleyball Club 18-1's team in Chula Vista, California. I have always played up with older teams. We competed in many different qualifiers this year and finished the season at AAU's Junior Volleyball National Championships. I have enjoyed playing volleyball at a high competitive level.
My goal is to play at a collegiate level and to achieve a degree through a university. I am always trying to improve my grades while working on my volleyball skills. I try my best to always keep an open mind and a positive attitude.
