I'm Jourden (Jourdie) Holmes and I'm a Senior graduating in 2020!
For me, volleyball is the best sport ever invented! Because of my height most people automatically assume I play basketball. When I tell them I’ve never played basketball and my first love is volleyball they give me that “look” and say, “what a waste of height”. I just laugh and tell them don't knock it until you try it and if you try it you'll love it!
On the court I consider myself to be a very compassionate team player. I believe anything is possible if we work as a team (I've honestly seen us do some pretty amazing things on the court) . I am self motivated and determined. I want to be the best I can be, so I work extremely hard and I use criticism as platform to help me grow. My goal is to find a home both academically and on a volleyball team. I feel like I'd bring motivation , determination and camaraderie to the team. I am looking forward to having a coach that will help me enhance my skills! Academically, i'm teetering between nursing and psychology. I understand both are very demanding academically but I'm confident I can handle the work load.
Off court, I like to do the regular teenage girl things but most of my time is dedicated to volleyball, school work and physical self-improvement. My favorite pass time is hanging out with my family! I also enjoy fashion so I am always watching tutorials on how to design and make my own ideas come to life. I surround myself with like minds, so ALL of my friends are like me WE LOVE EVERYTHING about volleyball!
During off season, I try to attend as many camps as possible. I stay in the gym and I also volunteer a lot of my time to Olivia’s Doll House. There, they host party’s and non-profit events teaching young girl’s proper etiquette. When I volunteer there, I am responsible for hair and make-up making the girls feel like princesses. I love volunteering here it’s so much fun for me because I get pleasure of sending the little princesses off with a smile.
I currently attend Etiwanda High School, this was my third year here in which I played on the varsity team as starting middle. I had a lot of fun playing this past season, our record wasn’t very great but we put forth a good effort and I couldn't be more proud of my team for giving me an amazing senior year!
