Volleyball to me is an everyday life lesson and learning experience not only on the court but off the court as well. Growing up I was always told how athletic I was trying different sports. Not finding that spark and desire to play any of them was very disappointing. Finally, stepping on to the volleyball court I knew I would love the sport and became very passionate about it. I have a desire to work hard, improve and get feedback to make myself a better player. When my teammates tend to lack motivation I never hesitate to be the player to bring the team back together and encourage them. It’s always great to talk to people who understand volleyball and someone who I've always had was my uncle. He played, coached and refereed volleyball and has been a constant help for me. My whole family really loves talking volleyball. Good attitude and Communication, are two of my strongest attributes. I love asking questions because asking questions helps me become a better player and I find the "thinking" portion of volleyball interesting. Whether I’m playing well or not having a positive attitude is always on my mind. My coach always said the next play is the most important so don’t dwell on the play before. That has always stuck with me having the mindset that the next play is the most important and can affect the way I play and view the sport. I love volleyball, always have and will always love this sport. I hope college provides a solid life experience for me with new friends, venturing out on my own a bit, preparing me for my profession and of course helping our volleyball team to victory.
