Stevie Shaughnessey '21 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing High School and Club volleyball seriously for  four years and I love the sport. I have a tremendous work ethic, and am very competitive in the sport of volleyball. I am very adventurous and love to try new things. Before Volleyball I played Club soccer for 8 years, being a goalie for the last 6 of those. I decided to focus on Volleyball and academics. 

Traveling is one of my favorites things to do, and it is one of my dreams to visit every continent on the planet. Currently, I am enrolled in AP Chinese V at my high school, and I love it. The art of a language is so fascinating to me. I have a 4.6 GPA, and won the Torch of Excellence for my Chinese class freshman year.  I also was awarded the Torch of Excellence for Honors English and Honors Chem my Sophomore year.   I am very interested in psychology/journalism and travel. My goal is to play a high level of college volleyball all four years and be the best player I can be. I am very coachable, a very good listener, and I am not afraid to ask questions when I need clarification. Volleyball is a sport where you need to use your brain as well as your brawn, and that is exciting to me. My passion for the sport continues to grow, and I could not be happier that I decided to play volleyball.
