My collegiate goals and aspirations was graduating high school honors with a GPA of 3.5+, and to obtain scholarships to help with college, preferably for a 4-yr college, but anything helps. I am currently enrolled at Las Positas Junior College, located in Livermore, CA. My college major is Kinesiology/ Sports Physical Therapy. My concentration is working as a Sports Physical Therapist. I feel when being on the court, it is about being a team player, loving the sport of volleyball and give 110% of my abilities to play my best with my teammates. I have been playing volleyball since seventh grade, and I continue to play during my high school years, and soon to be going on my second year of club season.
For the school year of 2017-18, I was chosen to be Team Captain for the Varsity Volleyball team because of my positive vibes, team leadership skills, and love the fact that even when we maybe down in a game, I am always staying positive, physically and mentally. I not only show leadership on court, but as my coach says, "my leadership, determination, and dedication is always with me even off the court". At times our team maybe in the wrong place on the court, and I help/guide them to make sure they are at their designated positions.
I am different from my teammates in character by being myself. I am friendly, outgoing, a determined individual in all of what life's trials may bring upon me. I may not always succeed in things, but I learn from it and continue to strive to make improvement to the situation. In an athletics perspective, I give 110% in games and practices. I love to apply my skills on court and off court, and always welcome feedback to better myself.
During my academics, I can say that I tend to be hard on myself because I feel that when it comes to education, failure is not an option to get me where I want to be in my future. I try my hardest in my studies so that I can be closer to receiving a scholarship to college, and know that this would be very helpful to not just me and my future, but also my parents. I will continue to work towards my educational and athletic goals and always will remember what my parents would tell me which is, "Krystal, we want you to be better than what we are, and to live life to the fullest!"
