Hi, my name is Alana Shields and I am a junior (Class of 2026) at Morro Bay High School in Morro Bay, California. I have been playing competitive volleyball since I was 7 years old, but I have been surrounded by it all my life. For that reason, I am very driven and passionate about all aspects of this sport. I am a starting all-around outside hitter on my high school Varsity team. I have been on the Varsity team since my freshman year and have been a Varsity captain for my sophomore and junior years. I also play club volleyball for Flight Academy Volleyball, based out of San Luis Obispo, California. The 2025 club season will be my fourth travel season. I am currently playing for my club's 17-1s team (also named 17 Maverick) and am a team captain. I am grateful for all the years of playing this sport and how it has increased my confidence as a leader and overall as a person, on and off the court. My plans for furthering my education after high school are to attend a 4 year college to study either teaching in education or kinesiology. I am hopeful and looking forward to continuing my athletic career in a competitive collegiate volleyball program. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.
