I have grown up in Newport Beach, California. I was as a swimmer for six years and then switched to volleyball in 7th grade. I transitioned to volleyball because I wanted to try a team sport. Being in volleyball has helped me become mentally stronger by having to trust my teammates. A team sport has made me aware that my teammates depend on my decisions on the court, as I depend on their decisions. The biggest struggle in my life so far was my transition to volleyball from swimming. Going from a water sport to having to run around a court was extremely awkward. Learning to be on land was a difficult realization for me. The transition taught me to keep fighting, to not give up when things were getting frustrating, and to learn from my mistakes. My academic goal for this year is to end with a 3.5 or higher. One unique trait I have is the competitive nature of wanting to win so much that I will do anything to get there.
