Since both of my parents were highly competitive college athletes, I grew up hearing the stories of the challenges and the victories and how both would not give up those memories for anything. They describe the feeling of the pressures and the exhilaration that they experienced along both of their journeys and their stories had me at hello. My mother played defense for a D1 Volleyball program and my father played D1 basketball. Thank goodness I inherited my father’s jump!
I learned very early that a huge amount of effort can change almost any path. I am tenacious and driven to achieve my goals. Like everyone else, I have had some disappointments along the way, and I have learned that it is those things that helped to push me to a different level. It is my dream and my goal to play competitive volleyball while pursuing a degree in higher education.
I have five siblings, and I am the only girl. Believe me that alone has taught me life lessons about survival, teamwork, toughness, both mentally and physically, and a competitive spirit that I could not have learned elsewhere. I am certain those lessons will help me to be an asset to your team and I look forward to meeting you soon!
