Tiara Manns '23 Recruiting Profile

The remote area of the High Sierra Desert in Ridgecrest, California is where I, Tiara Manns, reside. I am a senior at Burroughs High School and will be graduating in the class of 2023 with a GPA of 4.0.  

I took an interest in becoming a competitor in sports (volleyball and basketball) since grade school. It took off in middle school. My abilities have opened to a diverse training, as my coaches in both sports comment, "I am a fast learner and coachable". Volleyball took a strong pull being an Outside (primary) and Opposite Hitter (secondary), and Middle Back. In basketball, my positions are Forward, Center, and Guard.  I strive to become a better version of myself while learning from others. We all have the ability of improvement.

Some of my proudest accomplishments are receiving my Varsity letters and Scholastic Achievement Award for both sports my Freshman year.  Since 1982, the team helped pave the way to the Quarterfinals in the CIF Southern Conference Division 6 ranked #2 in the Mojave River League in 2022 earning MRL First Team All League.  As the volleyball season comes to an end, basketball comes to play earning our place as Mojave River League Champions 2020-2021 and receiving MRL All League Conference 2021-2022.  The accolades wouldn’t be achievable without my team.  

My intended area of study is Forensic Science with a minor in Business Administration. 

Not only representing Burroughs High School (Go Burros!) but as well as travel teams (volleyball, Aero Volleyball Lancaster, CA and High Desert Heat Academy Travel Basketball in Ridgecrest, CA).
