Hello, my name is Rebecca Malik. I am 18 years old and I live in California; I come from a family of 7. I recently moved to the bay area to achieve my academic and athletic goals. I am currently attending Skyline College and playing ball for Canada college. Ever since I was eight years old I have been playing volleyball , and by the time I turned nine I started to play club. I moved up to varsity at the end of my sophomore year for CIF after 2 years of being on JV/ Varsity as captain and starting setter, In the recent years I was starting setter and ran a 5-1. For club last season, I was placed on the 17's red east Forza 1 volleyball club as captain and at the beginning of the season Libero. I have been setting for my highschool season for now four years as well as my last 4 years of club. last year my club coach told me that I am a very skilled player and wants to move me to another position with the same mental toughness as i'm used to as a challenge, I accepted his challenge and already began to build success in it. Because of my extraordinary dedication to volleyball, I participated in local volleyball teams , assist the middle school leadership boys volleyball team, and did stats for my boys highschool team. In addition, I always want to better myself as a player by attending clinics and private lessons as well as boot camps to strengthen myself and my skills. I am an academic achiever and always take time for my studies . The last two years of Highschool I was taking 8 I.B classes with my school,. Being in these college classes has created some struggle in my schedules between sports and academics but I managed to create an organized schedule to maintain my grades and training. As far as future career goals, since I was a youngster I wanted to seek a career in forensics specifically Pathology. So my field of study would be in Biology and Criminology. Therefore, I encourage any opportunity to pursue my academic and sports plans. Thank you.
