My name is Grace Murphy and I am junior at Tracy High School in Tracy, California. I am a 5'10" athlete with 5 years of club volleyball experience, a 3 year varsity letterman and All Conference player. I recently moved to outside from middle block and had an awesome year. I was awarded All League First Team in 2014, and named to the Stockton Record All Area Volleyball Team. I also proved to be a very good a defensive specialist, back row is a strength. I currently play for the Encore 18-1 (Navy), Redwood City, CA.
Highlights of the 2014 summer include selection to the USA VOLLEYBALL A2 TRAINING TEAM. It was noted that it have excellent serve receive and passing skills, making me an excellent 6 rotation player.
I'm a very coachable perfectionist and I appreciate feedback on my game. I'm a self starter, I take responsibility and accountability for my actions, and I focus on results. I play year round, including sand. I'm focused on continual improvement, to do that I attend camps, clinics, rent time from a hitting coach and watch film.
I will pursue an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or related field. My objective is to own and operate an Indoor Sports Complex. I intend to teach, train and rehabilitate athletes of all ages, across several disciplines. Enhancing athletic performance and longevity through assessment, diet, training and motivation.
Currently, I am a sophomore in Tracy High's Ag/Sci academic academy. Ag/Sci is a specialized academy funded by UC Davis and is focused on offering core classes to get students into the UC system. I currently have a 3.5 GPA. I have not taken SATs yet. My GPA is not as high as I'd like (Spanish hurt me), but I am working to fix that.
I am a National Congressional Youth Scholar (2011) and post graduate of UC Irvine's Gifted Students Academy (2012). Hopefully my SAT scores will reflect my academic distinction.
I appreciate your interest. I LOVE THIS GAME.
Regards,
Grace
