My name is Isabelle Dungca. I was introduced to volleyball at the age of 11 and was trained by a strict coach who treated all of his players as if they were advanced competitors. From the start, I worked very hard to always contribute to my team and play smart. This club season, I am playing for Vibe VBC’s 17’s team as an OH/DS and court captain. Being in leadership at school and team captain as a freshman helped me understand what it takes to be a leader and has taught me how to support and encourage my team through ups and downs. I am also an assistant coach for a development program led by the same coach who built my foundation of volleyball. I remember learning the basics of playing the sport and find it rewarding when I see improvements in skills of the 11 and 12 year olds I help train.
My goal is to graduate from high school, study psychology and play collegiate volleyball. Challenging myself in all aspects is something I am doing constantly. I am disciplined, assertive, persistent and a hard worker on and off the court. I like to keep myself occupied and make sure I am always learning, inside and outside of the classroom.
