Hello! My name is Emma Robinson. I was born in the breathtaking “I never want to leave” city of Ventura, California in 2005 and moved to Thousand Oaks, California in mid-December 2021. Living on and by the beach with beautiful weather and sunny skies for most of my life brought me to the sports I fell in love with, which include indoor and beach volleyball.
I am 17 years old and a member of the class of 2024 at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, CA. On my varsity high school team, I play Outside Hitter/DS and Setter/Pin Hitter on my club team, LAVA West (17U). This coming season, I will be a Pin Hitter for the 18's team on a competitive club team in Los Angeles (Sunshine/Westside). My height is 5' 8”, standing vertical jump is currently 22” and my approach leap is over 10 feet. I can play all around the court, no matter the position. I have hops, quick reflexes, that “give it your all, always” mentality and I’ll never let a ball hit the floor (even if it means jumping over a few chairs to save a ball). Recently, I have excelled in my Setting skills, after only beginning to Set for my club team in November of 2021. I’d like to think that my teammates, coaches and family members see me as a hardworking team member and leader who is an all-around strong player and one who will always cheer on my teammates. In my last 3 Club seasons (Rise Volleyball Club, Ventura CA and Lava West, T.O. CA), I was elected co-team captain. For the past 2 summers, I worked as a coach for the 6-7 age division at Oaks Christian School's Girls Volleyball Summer Camp. That was amazing and I was honored to be selected as part of the coaching staff.
Some recent highlights in High School play include being named Marmonte League Champions without losing a set (30-0) in 2022! Secondly, my team made it to the Division 2 CIF Finals and State Regional playoffs in 2021 & 2022! I was named to the All Marmonte League 2nd Team last season and helped my Oaks Christian team get promoted to Division 1/2 team this season!
You can see me play for yourself by viewing my video reels on NCSA, Instagram or find me on Hudl.com (Emma Robinson | 5’8” 120lbs | Outside Hitter & Opposite Hitter).
In college, I am looking for an environment with a good balance of athletics and academics. I would describe myself as very self-motivated and someone who likes to get things done. Since I have always loved helping people, my future career interests include working in the field of nursing, criminal justice or fire science.
Learning from both of my parents who built their lives from extremely humble beginnings on the east coast and Midwest, to living a great life here in Southern California, I have a philosophy to work hard and never give up- no matter what. My father put himself through medical school, built a stable, happy and healthy life for my family as an ER physician, but he had very little when he was my age. My mother moved across the country by herself right after college, worked many years in the music/record industry and now runs her own Real Estate business. They both were accepted into and graduated from amazing Universities because of their strong work ethic. It motivates and excites me to have the opportunity to earn an admission spot at a great college and hopefully continue to play the sport I love.
Thank you for your time.
Blessings,
Emma
